Baby Matinee Coats – 1960s Vintage Knitting Pattern PDF – Instant Download
Two pretty traditional matinee coats for a baby, knitted in DK yarn and trimmed with narrow ribbon and buttons. The classic christening-day and going-home layer that never really goes out of style.
- Two designs, Model A and Model B
- To fit: 18 in chest (actual size 19 in, full length 9 in, sleeve 5½ in)
- Yarn: DK – 4 x 25g balls of main shade in nylon DK or Courtelle crepe DK, or 2 x 50g balls of double knitting wool, double crepe wool or Tricel nylon double crepe, plus 1 ball of contrast
- Needles: UK Imperial No. 6, 7 or 8 depending on the yarn used
- Also needed: 2 buttons and narrow ribbon (9 in for Model A, 1¼ yards for Model B)
- Era: 1960s
