A pretty vintage set for a baby: a knitted dress with short puff sleeves and a colourwork yoke, and a matching buttoned cardigan-style jacket to layer over it, both with contrast trims. Traditional, practical and lovely as a new baby gift.
- To fit chest: 19, 20, 21 or 22 in
- Dress length: 12 to 13¾ in, sleeve seam 1¾ to 2 in
- Jacket length: 9¾ to 12 in, sleeve seam 5¾ to 7 in
- Original yarn: Emu double knitting wool or nylon in ¾ to 1 oz or 20g to 40g balls – dress main colour 6 to 7 balls plus one each of two contrasts; jacket main colour 4 to 6 balls plus one each of two contrasts
- Needles: one pair each of Aero knitting needles sizes 8 and 10
- Also needed: 6 buttons for the dress and 4 for the jacket
- Tension: 5½ sts and 8 rows to 1 square inch over stocking stitch
- Era: 1970s
