• To fit age: 0-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-2 years or 2-3 years (chest 16, 18, 20 or 22 in)
• Cardigan finished length: approx 9 to 13 in, sleeve 5 to 10 in
• Original yarn: Patons Fairytale DK – cardigan takes 2 to 3 50g balls of the 1st colour plus one 50g ball each of four further colours; the hat takes 1 ball of the 1st colour plus oddments
• Needles: one pair each of Milward 3¾ mm, 4 mm and 4½ mm needles
• Also needed: 6 to 7 buttons for the cardigan
• Tension: 22 sts and 28 rows to 10 cm over moss stitch and Fair Isle pattern, or 22 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm over stocking stitch
• Era: 1990s
