A sweet vintage set for a baby: a lacy ribbed matinee coat with long sleeves, a buttoned front and ribbon bow at the neck, and a matching bonnet with ribbon ties. A lovely new baby or christening gift.
- Chest size: 18, 19 or 20 in (46, 48 or 51 cm)
- Coat length: 8½ to 9½ in, sleeve seam 5 to 6 in
- Original yarn: Robin Bambino 3 ply or 4 ply Courtelle Bri Nylon, 20g balls – coat takes 3 to 4 balls of 3 ply or 4 to 5 balls of 4 ply, plus 1 ball for the bonnet
- Needles: Milward Disc – 3 ply: 2¾ mm (old UK 12) and 3 mm (old UK 11), plus a long pair of 3 mm; 4 ply: 3 mm (old UK 11) and 3¼ mm (old UK 10), plus a long pair of 3¼ mm
- Also needed: 3 buttons for the coat and a crochet hook
- Tension: 3 ply 16 sts to 5 cm (2 in approx.) over pattern; 4 ply 14 sts to 5 cm (2 in approx.) over pattern
